My Responsibilities I take pride in fostering a positive and enthusiastic environment where students can immerse themselves in the language of music. It’s my responsibility to guide each student in shaping their musical journey, ensuring that their interests and goals are at the forefront. I customize the curriculum to align with the unique learning needs of each student.
Student and Family Responsibilities Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assigned materials. Please ask questions about assignments so that the student and parents have a full understanding of the assignment and goals. Parents: If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child please let me know. The more information I have, the more I can be sensitive to the needs of your child.
All students are encouraged to play at the studio recitals and take auditions for local ensembles and competitions. If an opportunity arises, please bring information to the next lesson so that I can help your student prepare.
Students must have a quality instrument that will not interfere in their ability to progress. If you are in the market for a new instrument please reach out for brand recommendations. I am happy to set appointments to meet the student and their families for instrument trials.
Tuition and Schedule *Please note that tuition secures a weekly time slot for lessons, but it does not guarantee a certain number of lessons if the student misses any scheduled sessions.
To simplify the payment process and provide consistency, I offer a flat-rate monthly pricing model for trumpet lessons. This means that rather than paying per lesson, you’ll pay a set fee at the beginning of each month. Here’s how it works:
- Consistent Monthly Payment: The flat rate is calculated based on the total number of lessons available throughout the year, including potential breaks and holidays. This allows us to spread the cost evenly over the months, so you pay the same amount every month, regardless of the number of lessons that particular month.
- Benefits of Flat-Rate Pricing: - Predictable Budgeting: You’ll know exactly how much to budget each month for lessons, with no surprises. -Lesson Consistency: This approach encourages regular attendance and practice, helping students build consistent progress. - Inclusive of Breaks: The flat rate takes into account planned studio breaks and holidays, so there’s no need to worry about adjusting payments for these times. - What’s Included: - Regularly scheduled lessons (typically four per month) - Two makeup lessons per term, subject to availability - Participation in studio recitals and other events This flat-rate model provides a fair and balanced approach, ensuring that your child receives consistent instruction throughout the year, while simplifying the payment process for you. If you have any questions or concerns about how this works, please feel free to reach out! - Payment: - Automatic payment is preferred and available through Stripe. - Cash and check will also be accepted - Due on the first of the month - Payment received after the 5th of each month is subject to a $10 late fee. Payment received after the 10th of the month is subject to an additional $10 late fee and the lesson time for that student may not be reserved for the next month. - Recurring late payments may result in termination of the student's enrollment.
Cancellation Policy Lessons canceled with under 24 hours notice will not be provided a make up lesson. Lessons cancelled with 24 hours notice will be credited a make up lesson for that month.
Each month one day will be offered for make up lessons. This date will be announced at the start of each month via email. If the student is unable to attend a lesson on this designated day the credit may be forfeited.
Make up lessons do not count as credit for the next month's tuition.
Lessons canceled by me will be given as much notice as possible and will be rescheduled within 30 days.
Planned vacations or other conflicts communicated in advance receive a make-up lesson credit for that month.
Music & Materials Each student is responsible for purchasing the required music and materials for lessons. Assigned materials are expected to be acquired no later than two weeks after the materials have been assigned. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.
Commitment When students enroll, they are reserving their place in the studio for the entire term. Changes to weekly schedules may be made on a case-by-case basis each month before tuition is due.
If the student decides to pause lessons during the course of a term, tuition for the remainder of the term still applies. Alterations to this policy are on a case-by-case basis.
Fall Term - September through December Spring Term - January through May Summer Term - June through August
Please note that a student's spot will not be guaranteed for the fall term if they were not enrolled in lessons during the summer term.
